~~~ Mid-Term Election Day – Don’t Forget to Vote! ~~~
The only way to learn is to look for things about the topic that pique your interest and apply them to work, art, building, acting, music, writing, and almost everything else in between. To achieve anything in life, you need to have a “can-do spirit!” It helps to learn early in life to have parents who have the attitude that if you join anything, you should see it through to the end and not enable you to quit. Quitting eventually lowers one’s self-esteem and allows for failure and complacency to breed.
Here are some successful guidelines to teach yourself or others to motivate yourself or others in your life.
- Set Clear Goals – Break it into smaller steps and celebrate even small wins.
- Surround yourself with a supportive learning community. There is an abundance of self-help resources available in this age of information at your fingertips – Wikipedia, Google, UTube Learning, Facebook Reele and more
- Stay curious and keep pushing forward. Keep in mind that when learning anything, there are always wins and losses, successes and failures, and recognize that it is all part of the process.
- Celebrate your progress and don’t pay attention to any negativity. Remember, if it were easy, everyone would do it!
- Stay inspired by your “WHY” – Why you wanted to learn it in the first place, which is supported by the four R’s – Responsibility, Relationships, Rewards, and Reasons.
The five C’s of motivation provide a framework for increasing engagement, productivity, and personal drive. Context varies from employee self-discipline to youth development, but the core principles are common in the objectivity (Clarity, Control, Commitment, Connection/Collaboration, Culture/Competence, and Consistency)
Point to Ponder: As a father of four and grandfather of eight wonderful children and grandchildren, who make us proud every day as our biggest accomplishments and motivators. I am a self-taught guitar player, wine maker, writer of books and poetry, handyman, gardener, builder of things, etc. The world is full of men and women who have made, or could’ve made, great strides personally. It all starts with a flicker or small spark, either burning within you or motivated and fueled by the nay-sayers, who are the catalysts in your life. I thrive on breaking false narratives and leaving a legacy of positivity for the next generation.
