A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens – By none other than Scottish-born actor from Edinburgh, Alistair Sim. He was born on October 9, 1900, and died on August 19, 1976
The movie was released in the United States on November 29, 1951, under the title A Christmas Carol. In London, it was released in December, 1951 as Scrooge. A Little, maybe unknown, fact is that the director, Brian De Palma, is also notably known for directing, It’s a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.
The Cast included: Alistair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge, Michael Hordern (Jacob Marley), Mervyn Johns (Bob Cratchit), and Kathleen Harrison (Mrs. Dilber)
