Marrying my wife at 19 certainly has had a great impact; having children young and buying our first house at 21 were all growth and great learning experiences. Though there have been many growth opportunities along the way from 19 to now, 70, with each one, you learn to take things in stride.
One of my greatest decisions was taking the leap of faith from writing my first book to publishing it. Now, as an author of three books, the sense of pride and knowing I will be leaving a legacy for our children and grandchildren and beyond is priceless. Each step of the process—writing, editing, proofing, outlining, formatting, illustrating, and perhaps the biggest hurdle of all—marketing, advertising, and promoting through the intricacies of social media—can be overwhelming. The return on investment is never guaranteed, but that should never factor into the decision about whether to pursue it as a dream you have always had.

What was a decision you made that helped you grow on a personal level of achievement?
