Daily Prompt: What is something you’ve forgiven but have not forgotten? 11/7/26

(John 3:16) – Be Thankful, Grateful, Patient, Understanding, Charitable, Kind and Smile as it is infectious! God Bless America: Protect Our President, 1st Responders and Military!

~ ~~~~ HAPPY 49th BIRTHDAY TO OUR SON DAN ~~~~~

We had a contractor do some work very expensive done years ago when living in our old house in Drexel Hill. He and his guys came in like gangbusters to do work we needed done. We paid half up front and made the mistake of paying the other half with half the work yet to be done.

He supposedly got pneumonia and we heard that he disappeared for over a week to a warmed climate island.

We tried to report him to the BBB and the local License and Inspection to find recourse. We were told, delinquent contractors who start work, take the money and don’t finish the job was so prevalent that if the courts went after them it would fill their docket of cases for the year.

The above is not reflection on the many good contractors we used over the year’s before and since. Also, things available today like, Anji’s List, Thumbtack or many of the contractor hiring sites available today. Also “Next-door Neighbor” for getting feedback before hiring.

I always preach in my writing – “Forgiveness is the heart of the Law! However, Jesus said nothing about “forgetting” and not come away from learning hard life lessons.

To my credit to the above prompt – You noticed I did not mention the name of the company, him or as we found out later, his many alias’s or any of his workers. However, one day if he is till running especially, fake BBB ads, playing the same games, he will either do it to the wrong person or at the end tell the “One”, face-to-face why he took advantage of good hard working honest people.

Point to Ponder: So, buyer beware. Check references, license and inspections are good and up to date. Try to hire from sites that back their workers. Then apply the true and used tried and tested rule of 1/3 to start, 1/3 half way through and 1/3 when the job is completed to your satisfaction.
