Any place I stay with my wife by my side, even if it is just for a while when we are away from our home, our kids, and our grandchildren. It really doesn’t matter whether it’s in a cabin in the woods, on a mountain lake sipping wine, in a hotel room in some big city, or perhaps a rental property down the shore, or in a distant country in a far-away vacation location, or at a Bed and Breakfast. It actually is true that home is where the heart is! She has had mine for over 50 years and hopes she feels the same!
I/We tell our kids we have lived in three houses, but at the end of the day, don’t tie yourself down to a house, but more to the schools, neighborhood, and be smart about staying ahead of the curve in reading the signs of the times.
You, your family, and your children make a house a home, and they aren’t planted in any one place. Your house, though, may be the biggest investment you make. So take the time to make sure the schools are good, the neighborhood is safe, and your house won’t keep depreciating in the area you now live in.
