Daily Prompt: What’s the longest book you’ve ever read? 9/14/26

I’ve read many books, but the longest ones are the series I have read over the years, and I’ve never actually counted which series has the most pages. Maybe individually, none of them reach 1200 to 1400 pages like Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace, but compiled, they would give it a run for its money. I never read it, but I did sit through Doctor Zhivago twice as a kid. So, I will let you decide!

The Hobbit (which I always considered a preface to) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Wheel of Time (14 books in all), by Robert Jordan, was compiled and edited by his wife, who then hired Sci-Fi/fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson to finish it.

Game of Thrones: 5 novels by George R. R. Martin, series – A Song of Ice and Fire

Outlander Series of 9 books – By Diana Gabaldon with a 10th book currently in progress

Harry Potter Series of 7 books – By J. K. Rowling

So, what’s the last long story or series you’ve read?
