Daily Prompt: What was the last live performance you saw? 5/5/26

Be thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and don’t forget to smile, as it is infectious. God Bless America and Protect Our Military!!

The last shows of popular bands we saw were by Brian Wilson and Al Jardine of the Beach Boys, and The Zombies. The date was September 28, 2019, just before COVID hit at the now-closed but historic music venue in Upper Darby, The Tower Theater.

A place where every music act loved to play for its almost perfect acoustics. Over the years, we saw many bands, including the Moody Blues, Bee Gees, Michael McDonald, the Doobie Brothers, and Earth, Wind & Fire, to name a few.

My biggest regret was that my late brother Larry camped out overnight in 1974 when Pop Star David Bowie came to record the tracks for Live at the Tower Theater. My regret was that my brother got me a ticket to what is now hailed as the greatest show performance ever to come to our area. I told him to give it to another friend of ours because I was scheduled to work that day at my then-part-time job at Acme Markets at 43rd & Locust. Crazy!! I am still kicking myself over that one.

Wow! What was your last concert and where did you see it?
