What do you do to be involved in the community? 5/4/26

Be thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and don’t forget to smile, as it is infectious. God Bless America and Protect Our Military!!

This time of year, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, from MS or Cancer walks/runs to food banks. Most churches have food cupboards or food banks where you can donate or volunteer. The list of people in need and opportunities is endless; just look at the amount of so-called “junk mail” or the many commercials you will see weekly from a host of folks in need around the world. This also includes donating blood to the Red Cross, checking the box when you get or renew your license to donate your organs to the Gift of Life Program, and supporting organ donor awareness. The fact is, if everyone did this, it might eliminate the need for people to wait for life-saving organs. Just something to think about.

Take part in church outreach programs, quietly slip a few bucks into the “poor box, bring a bag of food, help neighbors, and voting might be the most important thing you do as a legal citizen of the United States.

As many of you know, I have written this daily blog on many issues from personal, political, and miscellaneous points of view posed in the “Daily Prompt”. I am also a published author of three books of poetry that hopefully inspire others’ imaginations to write, blog, or share their points of view, sometimes opening civil discussion without the rhetoric you hear on the radio or television. We may not agree, but it opens the door to objectivity within your community.
