As I opened my eyes this morning, I noticed an older man in the mirror. He had laugh lines and gray hair, showing his years of life experience.
His eyebrows are now thinner and thicker in certain spots, with the living ear and nose hair comfortably residing in those areas.
His eyes are cloudier as he squints frequently to see the end of the block, just like he used to.
His arm and hand skin is more stretched than before, spotted and freckled, now showing the signs of many years worn.
The slimmer stomach is now showing its age; like the words of these verses spilling over the belt of the page.
His manhood is now less useful than it was in his youth; I probably should have avoided this as being quite rude.
Thighs, hips, and shins are forming their new, excessive skin; requiring a larger bathing suit before entering the pool to swim.
Now looking down to knees, ankles, and feet less well; Oh! the stories they could tell of the surgeries and adventures known all too well
Putting on my glasses to get a good look at the bottom of my soles; well, let’s just say better spectacles would provide a clearer glimpse into my soul.
