(John 3:16) – Be Thankful, Patient, Grateful, Charitable, kind, and smile, as it is infectious! God Bless America; protect our President and Military!
Too many things, but for starters- being married to my lovely wife and High School Sweetheart for over 50 years. The amazing mother of our four grown children, and grandmother of our eight grandchildren.
She also served as my editor on three published books, as you all know, which was a personal achievement, along with publishing a poem in 1991 that I am quite proud of and started me on my journey.
Much to my younger self’s surprise, I have been making my own wine for the past 15 years or so. I’ve done some projects with my oldest grandsons, Charlie and Kevin, as well including putting in a patio and the post to hold the sunshade sail. I also built a table, six bench seats and firewood crib from the pallets the materials came to finish and compliment the outdoor area.
I also recruited them to help install new galvanized window wells to replace the rusted-out ones on their new house, continuing in the tradition of doing projects over the years with our two sons, Dan and Mike.
Also, put in a fire pit with my daughter Kate to offset the new patio, something family and friends alike have enjoyed these past 5 years.
While typing this, it hasn’t been lost on me that we have been truly blessed to have not only an awesome family, who are willing to learn those hands-on board projects. More importantly to carry on those traditions of teaching and developing those much-needed life skills in our children and grandchildren in passing on knowledge learned.
What would be your take?
