My conversation with Snoopy!
Hey, what’d say if you fed me first, packed a bag with plenty of treats and a water bottle, and don’t forget the…hmmm, waste bags, since I’m sure you’ll need a few. I sure miss the stories of the old days, when you could just let me off the leash and run the neighborhood, and I could visit all the kids and dogs in the neighborhood. You know that nasty calico cat, Fritz across the street? I would like to wring his little neck. I was having a little fun with him last week and he almost scratched my eyes out. He’s no fun at all!
Anyway! Then we take a nice long walk in the park so I can sniff around and bark at a few people with other dogs… hopefully the female sort, if you catch my drift! Woof, woof, Howl! It’ll give me a chance to leave my scent everywhere, if you catch my drift!
Maybe, and even better, we go to that dog park where I can lose the leash and play fetch and tag, chasing the other dogs around, especially that beautifully groomed French Poodle, Fifi! I just hope that annoying terrier, Fetch, isn’t around, as he’s the serious type. You know, the last time we were just sniffing around, sort of playfully, and checking each other out, he came out of nowhere and bit my ear and chased me off. You know that was a week ago. It’s still sore, and he left a mark!
Then we go home for lunch, and you can eat something too! We take a long nap, then pack another bag of treats and water, don’t forget the waste bags, and go for a drive. Maybe this time we sneak away to the lake or the beach; you know we both like it there. We just don’t want to stay too long, as we will need to head home for my dinner!
Afterward, we can take another late-night walk around the neighborhood, leaving more of my scent to remind other dogs I’m back. More importantly, you brought the bags to do my other business, right? Then maybe sniff around the old neighborhood to see if any new dogs are in town before heading home for some much-needed rest. You did well today keeping up and wore me out, as my paws are killing me. Also, my ear is still sore from that dread nosey Fetch!
Hey! What’d you say tomorrow we get up nice and early as the sun’s coming up and do it all again… well, after you feed me and let me out in the yard to take care of some business…If you catch my drift? Today, do you think we can go somewhere I can lose the leash and run around on my own a bit? Heh! Heh! Can WE!
