A Man Called Ove -To be honest with you, I hated the book and couldn’t even give it what I give most books: 50 pages before deciding if it is worth continuing.
A little history, I saw the movie, Saint Vincent with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy in her first serious role, and loved not only the premise but would recommend seeing this movie right up there with the movie, Simon Birch “
Browsing book covers and jackets at Barnes & Noble, I came across this book, which I believe was on the New York Times bestseller list. The jacket cover had a feel similar to the movie Saint Vincent, so I decided to purchase it. I might add that about an hour later that same day, I returned it as a mistaken purchase for someone as a gift, since they already had it. Okay, a little white lie, but it worked, and I was refunded.
Zoom ahead to a few years ago: my wife and I went to see Tom Hanks in the lead role, and, as usual, he gave an amazing performance in the movie A Man Called Otto. Go Figure!
What was your novel idea for this prompt that you never finished, and why? I am waiting for anyone who attempted, War and Peace!
