She had just started to see a late friend, Bob J. of my late brother Larry, well at least that’s how he explained it. He drove and asked me another friend to join him as he was meeting this girl he wanted to date. The problem was she would only meet him with some friends. He drove to my house where another friend Bob S. was staying for the weekend. We were all friends in grade school growing up in SW Philly before moving to the suburbs a.k.a. Delco.
He drove to the house, and though he had passed by us earlier (a jerk move, if I might add), he was now asking if we would join him. We did, and upon seeing her and getting to know her a little, I figured she was too nice for the likes of him, as he was a real hound. My friend Bob S. agreed. A short time later, I found she had the same feelings for me as I did for her.
We started seeing each other near the end of the summer of 72. We were 16, and pretty much the rest is history that I will keep to myself. RIP to Bob J. and brother Larry who were both intricate in our meeting.
