Try to stay active during the day by going for walks, shopping, and gardening, and going to the pool at night. Although now in our 70s, during those down moments, a 1/2-hour to 45-minute afternoon power nap really helps. We are both fairly early risers and like to stay up late enough to catch the news. However, now that we are retired, we pretty much stay up or go to bed whenever the mood hits us.
We both use a sleep enhancer when needed, such as Natrol Ultra Sleep, a blend of Melatonin, or, more recently, Relaxium Sleep Quick. These have helped us both during moments of insomnia. These are certainly better than using what we did in the past, Benadryl, as recent studies show it could be tied to early dementia. That’s a card in an envelope nobody wants to open early. LOL!
Point to Ponder: Today was the day the Declaration of Independence was signed, and if he had his way, we would’ve been celebrating it today rather than the 4th, the day it was officially ratified by the Continental Congress!
