Be thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and don’t forget to smile, as it is infectious. God Bless America and Protect Our President, His Cabinet, and Our Military!!
Looking back at the advice my parents gave us, much of which was shaped by living through the Great Depression and WWII and by their Catholic upbringing, I reflect on how they handled adversity in their lives and the lessons they passed on to us baby boomers. More of a hands-on roll up your sleeves, make a plan of action, and then get to work. They were a generation of doers, and without excuse or apologies.
With the above instilled in both my DNA and my wife’s. I first develop a plan of action, then seek her advice or opinion, as my grounding force. Then my children, siblings, or friends can see what knowledge, if any, they can share.
However, when it comes right down to it, do the research, make a plan, ask the questions, get answers, run it by my wife, and then, whether it’s a personal issue or a project, I measure it out logically, think on it twice before cutting, so to speak. I am a firm believer in going with your intuition or gut feeling in most matters, as it comes from an inner voice.
Point to Ponder: There is nothing wrong with failure, as failures are learning experiences, and we all make mistakes. However, we must keep striving forward, as quitting or not trying at all is unacceptable. My father and mother would say it is better to try and fail than to not try at all, and that is some real sage advice!
