Daily Prompt: What’s the best way to meet new people while traveling? 10/6/26

John 3:16 – Be Thankful, Grateful, Patient, Charitable, Kind, and Smile, as it is infectious! God Bless America; Protect Our President and Military!

The hardest things you have to do in life in meeting people for the first time is having the confidence in yourself and the courage to put yourself out there regardless of the feedback you get. Be of good moral traits and convictions and then don’t change the person you are to impress others, or fit into the popular crowd etc. The world will always be filled with judgmental, leachers, bullies, usurpers, thief’s and heathens but just make sure you aren’t one of them and you will be fine.

Everything all begins with liking the person you see in every morning in the mirror and more importantly be worth liking as they go hand in hand. Gravitate towards those who are like minded and let the rest fall to the wayside. Someone much wiser than me said in life one has to, “Separate the wheat from the chaff before a good loaf of bread can be made and worth savoring.” The ret gets thrown into the fire as waste.”

Then whether it is at a new school, new neighborhood, new job, a person of interest or other of life’s situations that present themselves over the years; you will be ready and equipped with the tools you need to be successful – A confident YOU and one who has the courage to say NO to things that are not in their or their families best interest.

There was a line from the movie, We Bought a Zoo that struck a chord with me. Matt Damon s character is telling his son how he met their mother who had passed from Cancer some years ago. He said he saw her through aa shop window with a friend and was drawn to her immediately. He parted the knowledge his father has given to him in situations such as these…” Son, all it takes is 30 seconds of courage!”

Great advice to take life in small bites and knowing when sit does and it’s something worth the effort – It only takes 30 seconds of courage to act upon it. If you get turned down or strike out, you will have learned a powerful life lesson. Just because you have confidence, knowledge, and courage doesn’t mean everything you want will go your way. However, you will know that to have tried and failed is always better than the alternative- not to try all!

Point to Ponder: It is important to keep in mind and recognize that not everyone comes from the same starting place in life in – home, education, neighborhood reach out program’s and the like. Just don’t use those things as excuses to a better life. The actor Morgan Freeman said once when being challenged on this topic as noy coming from a pristine background in youth. His answer was, ” If you are a motivated individual to succeed and better yourself every town has a bus, trolley, boat or train for you to leave.”
