Daily Prompt: If you had to be an animal for a week, which one would you be and why? 7/16/26

John 3:16 – Be thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and smile, as it is infectious.  God Bless America; protect our president and Military!

~~~ Happy 81st Birthday, Our Sister Mary Coyle (nee: Donahue) ~~~
Killer Whale a.k.a. Orca – They are Apex predators and at the very top of the food chain, with no natural predators in the wild. They live in highly complex, matriarchal societies called pods, where knowledge and hunting techniques are passed down across generations. In the wild, orcas have the same lifespan as humans. Orcas share a slow development and long life cycle similar to ours. Calves, like the teenagers of today, can stay with their mothers for decades- and sometimes their entire lives. Yes, guys, the women run the household here too, and sometimes the kids never leave the roost!
Females in the wild live on average 50 years, but can live up to 90 years or more. Like humans, female orcas undergo menopause.
Males typically have a shorter lifespan, averaging around 30 years, with a maximum lifespan of 50-60 years.
Unfortunately, while they have no natural born predators they are affected by Human factor as their main threat. This includes pollution, vessel noise, habitat degradation and prey depletion.
So, what animal would you pick??
