Prompt: How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life? 2/2/26

Greet the day thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, and kind. Don’t forget to do it with a smile, as it is infectious!

Precursor: Below are my views, only drawn from what I experienced and through my soon-to-be 70-year-old eyes, a lifetime. Yours may be different from mine, and that’s okay. I was raised not to expect handouts, learn what you’re good at, study and work hard, and pray harder. Be charitable and help the less fortunate, and it will pay off. In today’s business terms, it is referred to as your LOE (Level of Effort). These attributes I share are mine. I realize it opens the door to something our forefathers did all the time: peacefully debating those issues, knowing that to get anything accomplished, we may have to compromise, and without recourse. Now that’s FREEDOM! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am the sixth of seven children born on a snowy, cold winter day in 1956. With Alaska and Hawaii becoming states. My, like my wife’s, parents were both products of the baby boom years, just after WWI, aka “The Great War”. Who told stories of living through the “Great Depression, Spanish Flu, WWII, Korean War, Writing Letters, and Radio were the media of their day, before those small black and white televisions changed their world and ours for good. It has now been likened to the opening of “Pandora’s Box”.

However, soon cures for polio were administered by sugar cubes and a DPT booster to ward off diphtheria, tuberculosis, pertussis, aka, and measles. Many of the children of their era served in Vietnam. Both generations witnessed, for the most part, the birth of transistor radios and the earliest versions of the computer called ” Enoch.” Hmm! A little interesting fact: a biblical name, as he was so loved and endeared that God took him up to heaven. (Read the Book of Enoch). Hmm! Another interesting computer logo, “The Apple”. What Eve gave to Adam ultimately got them kicked out of Eden: eating from the tree of “knowledge” of good and evil.

Our generation saw the birth of the likes of Jack Parr, Johnny Carson, Ed Sullivan, Lawrence Welk, Mitch Miller, and Variety shows. Alos, Rock n Roll with the likes of Chuck Berry, Elvis while experiencing the Cuban Missile Crisis, Nikita Khruschev at the United Nations afterwards claiming America will be the root of its own downfall, British Invasion led by the “Beatles”, Space Exploration and NASA rocket programs of Gemini, Mercury and John Glen, Apollo and Neil Armstrong taking, “One small step for man, One Giant leap for mankind”, the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Lee Harvey Oswald, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy, V8 Tape Decks, Cassette Tapes, LP’s and 45 records disappearing overnight, Arab Nations and the 7 Day War with Isreal, Egypt and Isreal peace talks followed by the assassination of Anwar Sadat just after he was named Time Magazines, “Man of the Year” and winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Woodstock, Roe vs. Wade, and the Kent State incident led to anti-war sentiment. A time that saw the birth of Atari’s first video games, Bill gates and Steve Jobs creations, along with AOL, Nixon visiting China ( a third world nation at the time) and diplomatically opening the door to prosperity for them, living through the televised Nixon Watergate and OJ Simpson Trials and saw Bill Clinton actually say on live television, “I did not have sex with that woman”! Hmm!

The birth of Discovery and Columbus Space Shuttle programs, Sally Reid, Social media with the likes of Google, Facebook, Twitter changing the world in instant communication, 9/11, Tomahawk Missiles and Stealth Bombers in Iraq seen live TV on CNN, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq war, the Obama Presidency, Trump being elected, Covid Pandemic, costing what many believe Trumps stolen election by Joe Biden/Obama and Clinton machine (aka ” The DC Swamp, the opening of our borders flooding our country with cartel drugs, sex traffickers, 21 plus million illegal immigrants in their efforts of controlling all future elections creation of Sanctuary towns, cities, states and many lining their pockets through insider trading and lobbyist money. This led to Trump being reelected, to close the border, complete the Wall, bring manufacturing and jobs back to the USA, pay down our national debt via tariffs on almost all the UN freeloader nations, end global wars through the Art of the Deal, an America First Agenda, and Peace through Strength.

Deal with the gangs, cartels, and other bad players killing or abusing our children. Reel in high interest prices, taxes, make a market for more affordable housing, lower RX prices, get control of food additives believed to cause childbirth illnesses and defects, and finally straighten the mess out from the 4 Biden Years and a litany of so much more, in taxpayer and health care and insurance fraud which brings us to where we are at today. He has done more in 2 years than most presidents have done in 8, and with the midterms coming, he has only another year to get it done to be sustainable.

Now, if he can get the House and Senate to approve two-term limits, use the same healthcare they give to government workers, and end voter and insider-trading fraud for everyone, that would be amazing. I would also like to see him give lobbyists the same view of the White House as you and me. Also, if elected to office, you must sign an agreement never to work for a lobbyist group.

Point to Ponder: I might of missed or misplaced out of context a few but just makes me scratch my head at what Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Lincoln, Grant, Roosevelts (Teddy and FDR), Kennedy, and Reagan would think of the shenanigans going on in our news, in our streets, and around the world today? I would also really like to know what God thinks of us all. Because if it leaves me scratching my head, he must be ready to pull His hair out, thinking what do I have to do for them to get it! Again, just my thoughts and how I see things, but I never did like kaleidoscope glasses.
