Attitudes Are Contagious Is Yours Worth Catching? 6/5/25

Daily writing prompt
What are the most important things needed to live a good life?

It is an old cliche, but faith in GOD is foremost and the most important ingredient if one is to be successful at anything. You must be able to live under the guidance of treating others as you would be treated, and the ten commandments as the guideline to all civilized nations.

If you live a life by those rules and apply them to education, charity, marriage, job, family, country, friends, and neighbors alike, you should do well in all your endeavors. It is simple to say, but as we all find out later, it is much harder to practice, especially when taught by Our Lord and Savior Jesus, that love and forgiveness are the heart of the law.

My suggestion is to find a wife and a few good friends who share in this practice as best they can. You see, it’s easy to be a friend when things are going your way, but a true friend is there when the worst of life hits, as it does at times to all of us. A true friend will tell you when you are wrong or if they disagree, but never at the cost of the friendship. They will try to stop you from doing something foolish despite what other so-called friends say. They will stand with you against those being bullied, and at times, despite the odds. Family should always have your back, support your good endeavors, unless you are doing something wrong. Bad behavior, as in real life, has consequences, and these days it seems we are in a blame society. We lack, more and more, a moral compass for how we conduct ourselves. It could be lashing out at different political views, religious beliefs, cultural differences, or trying to justify bad behavior. Collectively in society or humanity, we lack ownership as a whole in taking responsibility for bad decisions. Don’t take my word, just look at the News these days.
