Daily Prompt: Which aspects do you think makes a person unique? 3/29/26

Be thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and don’t forget to smile, as it is infectious. God Bless America and Protect Our Military!

When I first read this, I thought about the things you first see when meeting someone, e.g., hair color, eye color, build, height, how they carry themselves, beard, sideburns, mustache, you know, those identifying features a police sketch artist would ask. Also, whether they sport tattoos, facial piercings, or other piercings can give a certain impression of a person’s lifestyle.

Will they be a good fit for your business or company? Do they pass the basic background check on your last workplace, and why you left: were you on good terms or bad? Are they qualified for the job, and are their criteria and resume in order? Were you trustworthy, dependable, hardworking, diligent, or just putting in your time and collecting a check? We all heard the term dress for success.

However, as we delve deeper, we look for personality traits, how they talk, walk, and act to see if they exude confidence or come across, e.g., if in sales or customer service, do they exude confidence, friendliness, courtesy, and professionalism? Do they come across as obnoxious, are they an introvert, an extrovert, or flirtatious and unprofessional, a.k.a. an HR nightmare? In the corporate world, are their shirts pressed and ironed and shoes polished, or do they look as if someone dragged them in off the street? Do they fit the role for the job and reflect the company in a positive light?

We all know we shouldn’t judge, and we shouldn’t, as per the rule of GOD.

However, truth be told in business and the corporate world, the above is a criterion I laid out, a practice used by most HR departments in judging whether you are, or are not, a good fit for hiring and firing of personnel.
