Be thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and don’t forget to smile, as it is infectious. God Bless America and Protect Our Military
I need someone to explain to me the premise behind this No Kings Day? In history we learned that we fought two wars against the King, George that is twice. in 1776 and then again in 1812! Even our first President had the foresight in not wanting to be a king and made the title of President and electing another future president, John Adams his Vice President. Well in America so much for NO KINGS!
What I need to know and more importantly is why today? Tonight, at the vigil mass and tomorrow Christians around the world will be celebrating Palm Sunday and the entrance into Jerusalem the One and Only True King, Jesus Christ. Keeping that in mind, it makes me even more curious about his event and the powers that be propagating and promoting it on all days in the calendar year, today! It just seems so nefarious and deceptive, bordering on evil.
Pondering a little further all I can think of as I am sure many of the 83 percent of the Christians in this country is who are the money changers in the temple detracting from what we should be celebrating and focusing on Today! I can see people selling goods from pretzels, drinks, and t-shirts out with their little homemade signs, or worse, those bought and paid for by outsider interests. It almost has a modern-day Woodstock feel to it in protest of the war. The only problem with that is we as Americans should be standing behind our military, not protesting them. Have we learned nothing from our returning Vietnam Vets? I just find the whole thing disgusting and irreverent to all who served.
Again, this is an Op-Ed sort of like what we used to read as an opinion page back in one section of the Sunday paper. Rest assured only the uninformed or misinformed would ever buy into something as ridiculous as a NO KINGS DAY on of all days Palm Sunday!
We should all be focused more on the coming week and Jesus final days before offering Himself up for our sins on the cross. So, as we head into this week of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and into next Saturday in preparing next Sunday’s celebration of His Resurrection. Let all of us come together and focus on the right thing.
Happy Easter to you and your families and May God Protect Our Military, Faith, Family and Country.
