As I get older, I strive not to let too much disturb my generally positive mood—something that seems to come with age. I either distance myself from arguments or step in to prevent a situation from escalating. Though I’m not a pushover either, I express my thoughts freely in casual debates and don’t let differing opinions offend me. When I feel myself getting irritated, I find it much easier to step away or change the subject. I take three or four deep breaths and try to count to ten—a practice that still needs a bit of work at times. No apologies, as I wear and defend my Philly Irish descent proudly.
As stated, I am normally an upbeat, go-with-the-flow kind of guy, and I pretty much enjoy life and take it as it comes, like everything else, head-on. Faith, Family, Country, Friends! How about you?
