Here we go -To support the Constitution of Our Founding Fathers, support the government, honor the flag that so many died for, know the National Anthem, and be willing to defend your country from enemies, both foreign and domestic. Our nation’s founders, who designed the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, were Christians, and the nation was founded on the belief in divine providence under the eyes of GOD. The intent was what was called Manifest Destiny, and the expansion West to the Pacific, creating, through many trials and tribulations, that founding belief. Whether you agree or not, that is historical.
Like all countries, this nation has had its internal differences and conflicts that tested its resolve to uphold “These self-evident truths”, as outlined in those documents, e.g., The Civil War, Civil Rights movement, but most immigrants faced discrimination and challenges of their own, and I might add most today after the Civil War. So, with that understanding, I don’t buy into CRT, DEI, or Black Lives Matter. Once here and becoming a vetted, legalized citizen (like most of our immigrant ancestors who came via Ellis Island swearing oaths, learning the language, supporting the Constitution and the flag of our fathers) through the principles outlined above, and accepting that we are One Nation under God for Liberty and Justice for All.
However, over the past 8 years, this thinking has changed, creating today’s problems of millions of unvetted/undocumented influxes taxing our resources, housing, education, medical, and law enforcement to play catch-up in what has now become a political football mess. These are just my opinions on these matters and not a reflection on your character or lack thereof. Whether you agree or disagree, I can peacefully state them under my rights as defined in the Bill of Rights. Just a thought, maybe we need to bring back teaching the National Anthem, GOD, subject matter, without political views, as well as Trade Schools, History (the word means “Past” and we all have one), and Civics Classes!
