I enjoy many activities, such as writing, reading, blogging, cooking, and gardening. However, the one that brings me the greatest personal joy is playing my guitar. Although I consider myself a long-term intermediate player who enjoys adding vocals, I have experienced both enchantment and frustration over the years since I picked up my first guitar—believe it or not, in the summer of ’69. Bryan Adams may not know it, but what he has made a career out of is his song, which strikes a real personal chord with me and probably many others. I also pasted a John Denver video below that reminds me of my journey with the guitar. Enjoy!
It’s been 57 years since those days, and yet I still get a thrill every time I pluck the strings or work on a new song like it was just yesterday.
