I have been to many places, but I have never been to Nittany Mountain, the home of Penn State Univ., and the Nittany Lions football game.
Some of my early ancestors who came to this country hail from the town of Shamokin, PA, and my father was in a CCC camp for almost 2 years during the Great Depression in Pine Furnace, PA
Unfortunately, we have never had the opportunity to travel through our great state to Pittsburgh and the Three Rivers.
I have seen many parts of this beautiful state, from the Poconos, Jim Thorpe, the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, Gettysburg, Hershey, Harrisburg, Reading, Lancaster, York, Lititz, Delaware Water Gap, Newtown, Yardley and Washington Crossing and the like, but from central, Pa to the far western region of the state, we have yet to visit, although it is on our bucket list.
