Prompt: If you could uninvent something, what would it be? 1/16/26

Be Thankful, grateful, patient, charitable, kind, and don’t forget to smile, as it’s infectious.

This is an easy one for me. Video games, social media, and other abused media outlets. Though enticing and exciting, they’re too much like those over-advertised sweet cereals of our youth, or like looking into a bakery case loaded with cakes, éclairs, cream puffs, Danish, donuts, and cookies. It is overwhelming to the senses. The bakery and cereal items can be controlled in our buying options.

However, video games and the other platforms, which I admit I am guilty of, are like the cat that got out of the bag, or more precisely, the opening of “Pandora’s Box”! The world hasn’t been the same, and with the changes to television, cable, streaming, and more channels than you could possibly need or use, we have become inundated with sensory overload. I can’t help but feel that there’s an evil business behind it. Let me explain. Since its inception, things I see that are propagated and out of control – Illness, wrath, gluttony, greed, worry, crime, hate, envy, sloth, lust, and most of the bad things that seem all too plentiful in the world of today. Just look around you or at the news from station to station.

Point to Ponder: We don’t have to submit; we have free choice. Get back to God, turn the TV off, get outside, walk, run, play, hop, skip, jump, dance the night away, and live a life thankful and grateful with charity, patience, kindness, all those things that were freely given for our enjoyment. Lastly, shut the lid to the “Pandora Box” in your life. Move ahead, focused on the here and now, moving forward, and do not let yourself get caught up in the whirlwind of Pandora!
