Prompt: What makes you feel nostalgic? 12/27/25

Have a Safe and Happy New Year’s – Be thankful, Patient, Kind and don’t forget to smile as it is infectious!

As we look back at old movies, family photos, television shows, sports memorabilia, records, cassettes, or cartoons from our youth, we’re reminded of cherished memories with loved ones, both present and past. During this time of year, especially, we decorate our home with precious items that adorn our tree, many of which are from our and our children’s childhoods. We also enjoy listening to classic holiday music by Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Andy Williams, Dean Martin, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, The Ray Conniff Singers, Kate Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, The Carpenters, and so many more. The holidays are a wonderful time for reflection, allowing us to look back before we welcome in the New Year and create new memories that will someday be nostalgic for our children’s children.

It makes me think of the many people, places, and things that have changed in our lives since the mid-1950s. Some of which were only found in comic books and television at the time. Who knows what the future will hold, or the leaps and bounds medicine will make, with all hopefully enhancing world peace.
