Have a Blessed Day!
This one is pretty easy for me to answer – FAITH, FAMILY, COUNTRY and FRIENDS
If I could add anything to that, it would be that they are already embedded in the above. – TRUST, HONESTY, LOYALTY, COMPASSION, and RESPONSIBILITY
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Today is a day where we, as a family, remember the passing two years ago of my brother-in-law, or as we used to say, “My brother from another mother”, Steve. He will always be cherished, most importantly, as a confidant of both my wife and me, and a second father to our kids and grandchildren. We always had a very close relationship, and someone whose advice and input carried great weight throughout our marriage. He loved being around the kids and grandchildren, joining in on the day’s fun, whether it was shooting hoops, tossing a football, playing catch, playing bocce ball on the beach, throwing a frisbee, or, most recently, playing cornhole.
Steve, never married, and over the years, when things were tight budget-wise, he would share his experiences taking the kids, fishing, shooting, or share in other interests. He enjoyed being around them, and they enjoyed being around him. We would often have family dinners on weekends, especially during the COVID years. He would also spend most holidays with us, always being the first to arrive with either a fruit tray or a box of Bevans Chocolate from Media, PA. He loved spending quiet moments before everyone showed, with his sister and me sharing many laughs, stories, and the like. We were always grateful and loved having him over, even if it was just to watch a game or have a quiet dinner.
When we get together, which we still do pretty often, he is always an integral part of the story and the day. He has blessed our family both in life and continues to bless us even in his passing.
