This question is pondering on several fronts. Indeed, I/we would love to travel more and see as much of this blue marble of a planet as possible. Ireland, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the French Wine region, Italy, Sicily, New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia look pretty awesome. If they ever stop killing each other, the Holy Land would be at the top of my bucket list for sure.
On the other hand, charitable works include making meals, volunteering at food cupboards, assisting the Red Cross, driving the elderly to doctor visits, and participating in other similar volunteer organizations, as well as a host of other needed activities in almost every religious denominational institution and local neighborhood organization.
I could certainly spend more time writing, reading, marketing published works, visiting loved ones, spending time with family, friends, or playing music with friends. It’s the type of question that, when asked, opens the doors of the mind to an endless wealth of ideas.
Point to Ponder: Raising a family often pulls you in many different directions. Sports, scouting, CCD, music lessons, and school events all compete for your attention. As your children grow up and become parents themselves, the demands shift to include babysitting, dog sitting, school holidays, doctor visits, and dental appointments. Before you know it, these obligations can take on a life of their own, influencing your daily routine—even in retirement. You might find yourself wishing you had more time to pursue your own interests amidst all these responsibilities.
