Experience various cultures, particularly those of the most European nations, through aspects of daily life, such as cuisine, seasonal and holiday traditions, historical sites, and more. We believe that if time and budget permit, river cruises on the Danube and Rhine, or the St. Lawrence Fall Foliage Cruise here at home—which stops at ports in both the USA and Canada—are excellent options. We are still at the Travel Book stage but giving them more serious consideration.
In the US, we have yet to explore areas in the Midwest, including Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, and the Hoover Dam, among others. Additionally, we haven’t visited the coastlines of Northern California, Oregon, and Washington State, nor have we traveled through the wine regions near Lake Tahoe or the ancient tall redwoods and other notable sites.
I believe our ideal trip would include visiting the Great Pyramids and the Holy Land. It would be wonderful if the ongoing conflict and violence in that region, which has persisted for a millennium, could come to an end. As Rodney King said, “Why can’t we all just get along?”
