Walking, light exercise, biking, and swimming 7/18/25

What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?

As retirees, we enjoy walking and swimming whenever we can, and we engage in light exercise. During the hot summer months, we often go to the pool at night to meet friends or spend time at the beach. In the cooler fall weather, we love getting out to visit local orchards and gardens, taking walks in the park, or strolling around the neighborhood. It’s also our favorite time to take trips to points of interest.

Our saying is that if you find yourself on vacation through an area of historic significance that boasts wineries and fine dining, take a mountain route there and a coastal route home, and you’ll have an amazing getaway vacation. Although neither of us are skiers, ice skaters, or interested in snow-related sports at this stage of life, we both enjoy the beauty of snow. Call us crazy, but one item on our bucket list is to stay at a bed and breakfast that offers sleigh rides in the snow on the outskirts of a quaint town or village. Hot cocoa and snifter of Brandy anyone? brrr!

Spring is a time of new beginnings, swapping coats for jackets, dungarees for shorts, woolen hats for baseball caps, shovels and rakes for spades and hoes and the like. Prepping the garden in lieu of next seasons bounty.
