The Bible is undoubtedly the most important book ever written for humanity, as it is regarded as the word of God. It teaches us how to live our lives in a civilized manner through the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. Additionally, it outlines the consequences of failing to follow these principles. For those who enjoy scary movies, I recommend reading the Book of Revelation and praying that we are not living in such times.
A Christmas Carol it illustrates the frailties of humanity that can inhabit our hearts if we allow them. “Beware of… Greed, Ignorance, and Want, but most importantly Ignorance.”
Choosing a favorite book is challenging, but “The Lord of the Rings” stands out to me. It effectively portrays the battle between good and evil in a captivating fantasy world. Additionally, two books that have truly opened my eyes to the issues surrounding Afghanistan and the Muslim world are both authored by Khaled Hosseini: “The Kite Runner” and “A Thousand Splendid Suns.” As someone of Irish ancestry, I find these works as relevant as Frank McCourt’s “Angela’s Ashes,” “The Great Hunger” by Cecil Woodham-Smith, and “The Graves Are Walking, by John Kelly.”
I am sure every nationality from every country in the world, from Africa, to Asia, Australia, the Arctic, and Antarctica, to North and South American Countries. It can be said of all that they have sins of their own in the eyes of Humanity…”So let he who is among you without sin cast the first stone.
