Life’s simple pleasures vary from person to person! 5/30/2

Daily writing prompt
Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

Why stop at one? The obvious things would be spending time with my wife and family. The question is as diverse as asking about your favorite food, Season, Holiday, or flavor of ice cream; the list is endless unless you get down to specifics. However, to explore this question in its most intimate details is a story for another day, and besides, I was never one to kiss and tell. LOL!! I prefer to keep my thoughts here wholesome and suitable for “General Audiences”.

The things that bring me the most joy singularly include my morning cup of coffee and, in the past, coupled with that first drag of a cigarette. Not quite the joy as a kid seeing the carnival coming to town, getting your first bike, waking up to see what Santa brought, or to find school was closed on the account of snow, your first kiss, etc…

However, those who know me well understand what brings the most joy is quiet moments with my wife, playing my guitar, making wine, walking in the park, gathering with family and friends, reading a good book, writing this blog or publishing a story, warming by a crackling fire on a cold day, the first warm day after a cold winter, the smell of fresh mown grass after a rain, a rainbow, watching a sunrise or sunset over the ocean, leaves changing in the Fall, the magic of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday season, a night dancing with friends in anticipation of a New Year and one of the things I enjoy the most are those quiet moments of reflection both in the morning and before bed. Ah! but those moments are between me and THE BIG GUY!

Point to Ponder: I am at the end stage of publishing a family legacy story. My third book, one that has been almost 9 years in the making. A Chance Encounter with a Most Unusual Acquaintance

My first book, published in 2013, is a Philadelphia holiday story. With the closing of Macy’s this year, it may become more treasured than before. A Glimpse from Christmas Past is available at online bookstores in paperback,E*Book formats or @ http://www.A-Glimpse-From-Christmas-Past@ Audible .com
