Daily writing prompt
What personal belongings do you hold most dear?

After reflecting on the previous statement, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the many intangible necessities of everyday life. These include items such as licenses, registrations, Social Security cards, and health and dental insurance IDs. Additionally, we must consider banking information, credit cards, and home or auto insurance documents. On a personal level, important documents encompass birth certificates, blood types, vaccination records, marriage licenses, school records, diplomas, and various awards and accolades.

Beyond these, there are essential items that often feel almost second nature, like a grandfather clock quietly ticking and chiming on the hour or a vehicle. For those too young to drive, it might be a bicycle. For others, it could be a motorcycle, a boat, a fishing rod and reel, or an antique car restored with a parent. We should also remember those who cherish collections such as sports memorabilia, coins, stamps, and comic books. The emotional attachments people have to their belongings are as diverse as the flavors of ice cream.

As for me, I am an amateur poet and photographer who enjoys making wine. I also write poems, literature, and play the guitar. Additionally, I collect old photographs of family members, both living and deceased. Although my knowledge of their lives is primarily second-hand, their stories intrigue me, nonetheless.
